“We have stayed in many condos for our vacations and this one was the best! The views were amazing & we loved being able to open up the rooms for the ocean breeze. Everything is great quality, which is rare for a condo (furniture, pots/pans, towels, etc.) We also loved the peaceful little beach, walking a few minutes to be at Rum Point and snorkeling right off the beach. Will return for sure!!!” — Chicago, January 2011
“I could not say enough about our wonderful experience! Tennis, snorkeling ,scuba, suntanning, cycling, beach, we did it all just outside our door and great dining at Kaibo Yacht Club.” — Manitoba, January 2011
“If you want to de-stress then you have to come to Rum Point. This was my first time in Grand Cayman, and all I can say is location, location, location! What an awesome location! I found the condo and complex to be clean, and well kept. I felt very safe. The condo had a real view of the ocean (not all do). It was great to get up in the morning and enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean. Naps on the beach are a must! Next door are two restaurants, an awesome and fun bar (ask for a Cayman Colada!), and souvenier shop. And boy is it quiet! I slept like a baby! The condo also had a full stocked kitchen and full size washer and dryer; I really appreciated having both, Thanks! So if you are thinking about visiting Grand Cayman, come stay here, It is well worth it!” — Houston, January 2011
“We stayed at this property from Dec 24th until the 1st of 2011. It was a fantastic place to stay and everything new and up to date. Just the greatest place to stay with kids because of the private beach, snorkeling, and facilities next door–just can’t give it enough stars.” –Oklahoma, January 2011
“This place is amazing…we have been repeat visitors for many years now & plan on keeping it that way. It is such a comfortable place with beautiful upgrades. The view from every room is amazing & truly gives you the feeling of being in paradise. There is nothing like sitting on the lanai in the evening with the ceiling fans to add to the refreshing breeze that you get from being right on the point. Rum Point & the Wreck bar just a hop, skip & jump away add to the fun and relaxation with a great outdoor beach bar/grill, as well as whatever water sport you could want to do from snorkeling & swimming w/the Rays or just going out on a kayak, Red Sail Sports will hook you up. For you shoppers there is the Treasure Chest for swim suits, flip flops, beach toys, or souvenirs. All in all my family LOVES The Retreat and Rum Point and will continue to go back as long as they will have us.” –New York, January 2011
“My two best friends and I stayed for 6 nights to celebrate a 40th birthday. What a great condo! It is spacious, very clean, and truly felt like a home away from home. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew this was a great choice. The place is even better than the website depicts, and I can’t say enough about the view! The Retreat at Rum Point is the perfect place to relax, and relax we did! Most of the time we had the Retreat beach all to ourselves. Actually, we never even made it to Seven Mile Beach, we were so content here. The Retreat at Rum Point has the best of both worlds–quiet when you want it, or just a very short walk away you have access to a restaurant, bar, gift shop, and water sports. Going to the Stingray Sandbar is a must. Playing with the stingrays is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done on vacation. We were very happy with our choice of the glass bottom boat, as it was a much more personal experience than the larger catamarans. It can get crowded at the sandbar so check the cruise ship schedules and plan accordingly. We were looking for a low-key place to relax and unwind, and the Retreat at Rum Point fit the bill perfectly. I can’t wait to return and bring my husband and three young sons. I know they will enjoy it just as much as I did. What a find!” –Kansas City, December 2010
“Just the greatest place to stay with kids because of the private beach, snorkeling, and facilities next door–just can’t give it enough stars. The awesome views and great screened in porches and private deck off the master-what else could you want. Lots of fun in the sun at this great penthouse!!!” –Oklahoma, December 2010
“We recently returned from a week at this property and had the best vacation of our lives! The property itself is spectacular! It was exceptionally clean and very well appointed. Simply put, not a single complaint. We were on a family vacation with our 3 children aged 7-12. There were no “I’m bored” comments all week and not once did they ask to use the internet! We snorkeled and swam in the pool, drove out the East End for lunch, visiting the blow holes on the way. Had a wonderful day visiting Sting Ray City and generally lounged around, feeling very relaxed.” –Ontario, November 2010
“We were first time visitors to Grand Cayman but have travelled extensively as a Family all over the World. We booked 2 weeks in August hoping to find somewhere to keep 2 teenage Daughters and a Son of 10 years entertained, but also give my wife and I some relaxation. A Car rental is essential for Rum Point, we were collected from the Airport by McCurleys as part of their rental Car deal, would recommend this but check the Car is right hand drive before you book. They stop off at a Supermarket en-route to the Condo which is very helpful, particularly if you arrive on Saturday as ALL shops are closed on Sunday. When we arrived at the Condo we immediately knew we had picked the best positioned Condo at The Retreat. It is the closest one to the Ocean and has amazing views from 2 sides plus a completey private sundeck off the 3rd floor master suite. The Condo is a credit to its owners and is filled with tasteful furniture of high quality. The kitchen has every appliance you will ever need, the cookware is of a very high standard again way better than you will normally find in a rental property. The management office at the Retreat are extremely helpful and always seem to be around if you need advice or need a light bulb etc. This Condo feels much more like a private residence than a rental and we feel extremely lucky to have spent 2 weeks in paradise. We eat in and out with the children and would recommend the Lighthouse, Over The Edge, Kaibo Club and Rum Point itself all well priced and the children were made welcome. We have no doubt in recommending the destination and hope to return in the future.” –England, August 2010
“From the moment you enter the condo the beauty and tranquility of its location is apparent. A vista of white sand and turquoise ocean is visible from every room and the temptation to run out into the sun is irresistible. Activities – and non-activities – abound. If your choice is to relax, first step onto the large screened porch and read for a while, then walk out from the porch directly onto the beach to sunbathe and perhaps walk the long secluded beach to the right. If activity is your preference, snorkeling from the beach is spectacular and not to be missed, or you might decide to walk to the left to the Red Sail Sports rental and activity center to participate in your choice of water sport. Excursions to Stingray City leave from the dock. And if you don’t feel like cooking, the Wreck Bar and Grill and Rum Point Club Restaurant are next door, with the Kaibo Bar and Grill a little further down the road. We have visited twice, once with family and once with friends, and can’t wait to return. It’s as if you have your own beachfront home in a little piece of paradise.” –Marblehead, June 2010
“This was my second stay and it was one of the most relaxing vacations I’ve had … since I was here the year before! The location is excellent with great restaurants nearby and the Rum Point beach is absolutely pristine. The people were very friendly and I always feel safe here. What a fabulous view – and the sunsets…” –Nashville, April 2010
“You have the best of both worlds – your own private beach or easy access to The Wreck Bar and their beaches with the Red Sail rental shop, gift store, high-end restaurant, hammocks, etc. The best part was the morning coffee on the porch overlooking Rum Point’s dock and enjoying the sound of the ocean.” –April 2010
“Our stay at Rum Point was a complete success. We were 1st time Cayman visitors. I’m happy we got away from 7 Mile beach, which is a little overbuilt.” –Redwood City, CA February 2010
“Great getaway in a nice quiet place. The unit is beautifully done inside and very comfortable. Snorkeling just off the back of the building. The pool is nice also. Is next to Rum Point Beach Club for shopping and dining. Also you can schedule dive and snorkeling tours next door. Beautiful views of the ocean from the balconies and screen porch. The best vacation we have had in a long time.” –Myrtle Beach April 2010
“The management office at the Retreat are extremely helpful and always seem to be around if you need advice or need a light bulb etc. This Condo feels much more like a private residence than a rental and we feel extremely lucky to have spent 2 weeks in paradise.” –Bath, England August 2010
“Grand Cayman’s a real divide in terms of places to stay and we were in 2 minds about which part of the island to stay on and the type of accommodation to stay in. Staying in Rum Point really was a great call. The apartment and the views were spectacular and really well laid out. We absolutely loved it. Having seen 7 mile beach on the 2nd part of our stay, it really doesn’t compare. Highly recommended for winding down, getting away from it or just the pure romance of the location and the view.” –Y, April 2010
“Spectacular vacation!! Thank you so much for the memories. Beautiful condo, sunsets, snorkeling and our very own cooking!! Can’t wait to return this March!!” –March 2010
